Writing a non-chronological report

Last week, the children in year 6 wrote a non-chronological report about smoking. We discussed the features of non-chronological reports and that their purpose was to inform the reader about a particular topic. The big write enabled the children to use formal language, subheadings and sentence starters for cohesion and technical vocabulary. We would love for you to have a look at a few of the examples.

Year 6 were asked to write the story of what happened based on what they had seen from the video. It inspired lots of amazing vocabulary, sentence starters and relative clauses (which we had been focusing on in the week).
